Amanda Mays

I have worked in the field of orthodontics since 2005, and you may see me practically anywhere in the office--in the clinic, at the front desk, doing records, who knows!  I love helping people, especially children, achieve beautiful smiles. Both doctors are very knowledgeable and take the time to teach patients how to take care of their great new smiles. I am married, and my husband Tim and I have a daughter named Alora and a son named Elijah. I love to travel and spend time with family and friends.

Arden Jolley

I might be the first person you meet when you become a new patient at Hamilton and Herring Orthodontics. In my role as Treatment Coordinator, I meet new patients and their families at their initial visit and help them through the different stages of observation, treatment and retention in our office. I worked in a dental office for 12 years before joining the team here in 2005.  I am married, and my husband and I have a son named Holden. I enjoy spending time with my family and volunteering at my church.

Holly Watts

I am one of the newest members of the Hamilton and Herring Orthodontics team. I completed training as a dental assistant and was excited to find a home with Doctors Hamilton and Herring as an orthodontic assistant in February 2010. I love seeing the amazing change between a patient's first visit and their great smile when their braces come off. When I'm not at work, I love spending time with my family.

Johnna Benfield

I have worked in the orthodontic field since 1984 as a clinical supervisor, assisting our doctors with patients and training clinical assistants. I love seeing our patients' excitement on the day their braces are removed and how beautiful their smiles are! I enjoy working with my fellow team members, and our doctors are both perfectionists with very high standards. I am married with a daughter named Elicha and a son named Jonathan.

Kathy Carpenter

I have two important roles in the office. In the records room, I take photographs, x-rays and impressions for patients so that the doctors can plan their orthodontic treatment. If you are a new patient, I might take your pictures on your first visit to the office. I also do a lot of work in the lab fabricating study models and retainers. I love working with children and families and being able to make people smile. I live in Hickory, and I enjoy playing golf, snow skiing, riding horses and spending time with friends.

Laura Brown

I have been a clinical assistant for Drs. Hamilton and Herring since 2007, assisting chairside and managing the office inventory. I enjoy being able to participate in giving someone a beautiful smile. Our doctors are excellent at achieving great results and are very good at treating each patient's individual needs. I am married and we have a daughter named Kyleigh.

Shameka Presnell

I have worked with Drs. Hamilton and Herring as a clinical assistant since 2008. I enjoy seeing the changes in our patients' smiles and how a great smile can help improve their self confidence. I have one son named Austin, and when I'm not spending time with him I love to travel and visit family and friends.

Shawn Terry

I have worked in the orthodontic field since 1986 assisting our doctors chairside and helping to train new assistants. I appreciate our doctors' attention to detail and the way they strive for excellence with each patient. I love meeting new people and helping them to improve their smiles. I am married and we have a daughter named Savannah.  As a hobby I love to play the hand bells at my church.
